The Island of Bonaire is located only
80 Km (50 miles) north of Venezuela and 48 Km (30
miles) east of Curacao.
Everything in this place revolves around diving.
The island can be described as a giant coral, with
a dry surface and full of wonderful underwater life.
It can be described as an arid island, with desert
vegetation towards the south and green mountains
towards the north. Its coast has turquoise waters
filled with corals.
Bonaire is perfectly equipped for the practice of
diving. Over 20,000 divers flop to the island every
year. Its infrastructure is constantly evolving,
covering all the necessities, lodging, and diving
services. What sets Bonaire apart from the rest
is its easy access to the diving spots. It is as
easy as strapping a pair of air tanks and going
out and diving..
To the west, the small-uninhabited island of Klein
Bonaire is covered by thick vegetation. There one
can find some of the best dives.
The people of Bonaire are very friendly and kind.
They are very eager to help. This kindness is due
to the Dutch influence in the island. |
