  The Mexican Caribbean is known for its splendid weather. With over 200 sunny days without rain, more than the Virgin Island and The Bahamas, and the average temperature of 21°C-31°C (70°F - 88°F). The summer days are hot. Although not on the hurricane belt, Cozumel can suffer from tropical rains. The rainy season is between the months of June to August. It can also rain during June and September.  
   
  Getting there  
     
  There are numerous flights that get to Cancun international airport from major cities around the world. From the airport it is a 30 or 40 minute taxi ride to Playa del Carmen. From then on, the best way to get to the island is by ferryboat. It takes about 25 to 45 minutes to get there. That depends on the ferry speed. The ferryboats sail off from the docks at Playa del Carmen every hour. The last ones are at 10 PM.
When returning from Playa del Carmen it is best to take a taxi, but not from the terminal, they have set prices that are higher. It is best to make arrangements with the driver before taking off to avoid an uncomfortable moment later.
There are also buses from Cancun bus station to Playa del Carmen. They depart every 15 minutes and cost only S4.
Another choice are the flights from Cancun, which take only 15 minutes. The planes are small and are propeller. The Cozumel airport is on the north side of the island and only 5 minutes from town.

TRANSPORTATION (within Cozumel)

The most common form of transportation is by taxi. There are set fairs from and to the hotels and the price can change in accordance to passengers. One can also rent a car, jeep, or motorbike. There are a dozen or more rental places in town.
