Honduras is a tiny country with very rich natural and cultural resources.. It is known to have excellent diving destinations. The Bay Islands are the three biggest islands in Central America: Utila, Roatan and Guanaja.

These islands are located 30 km (18 miles) north of the mainland. This is one of the most preferred diving spots.

The second largest barrier reef in the world is the biggest attraction. The reef begins in the Yucatan (Mexico) and ends off the coast of Honduras. Other attractions include, fishing towns, and beautiful white sand beaches.

Honduras is blessed with a wide variety of amazing flora and fauna. Mountains peaks have mysterious foggy tropical forests. "La Moskitia" is a vast tropical jungle located in the northeast region of Honduras. It is known for its natural, cultural, and archeological sites.

Among the rich archeological ruins found in Honduras none is more important than the Mayan city of Copan better known as "the Athens of the New World". This city is just extraordinary! It contains the most delicate and artistic Mayan writings and sculptures ever found.
